Handmade Gifts for Kids from Etsy shop Kidsstore: Giveaway and Review

Toy organizer travel roll-up ($15)

I am excited to share with you two quality handmade items from the Etsy shop Kidsstore. Both of these items  would make a fun yet practical gift for a toddler or young child.

First, the toddler/child apron ($15).  Designed to fit sizes 3 to 6, this apron easily fits both my (tall) 2-year-old and (tall) 4-year-old.  It is designed with an elastic waist band and elastic/Velcro neck band so that the child can put on and take off the apron by himself or herself.  Perfect for a child who loves to help in the real kitchen, play chef in the play kitchen, help with home repairs in the garage or house, or do messy arts and crafts.

The apron has a large pocket on the front, is machine washable, comes in prints suitable for both boys and girls, and can be personalized with your child's name.  I know this apron will get lots of use around my house.

Second, the toy organizer travel roll up ($15).  This roll features seven pockets of various sizes that can hold crayons, paper, and small toys such as a deck of cards, Hot Wheels, or little play figures.  One of the pockets has a Velcro closure to hold very small items such as Legos, puzzle pieces, or toy accessories. The roll is made of 100% cotton in a variety of kid-friendly fabrics.  It has a fold over flap and attached elastic closure (thick hair band) to hold everything inside once it's rolled up.

These toy rolls could easily fit in a purse and provide on-the-go entertainment for your child anywhere he or she needs to stay put and play quietly.  So far, we've used ours at church and in a restaurant.  Some moms might swap the toys out frequently to provide constant novelty.  So far, we've chosen to let our kids choose what toys to include, and then only allow them to play with the toys in the roll up when we are outside the house.  The entertainment value of simply taking the toys out of the pockets and putting them back inside should not be underestimated.  Several of the fabrics feature roads on the inside flap that your child can drive his or her cars and trains on.  Each toy roll up comes with a few crayons and sheets of paper plus a small toy or two.  There are versions with or without a vinyl street map (I opted for the vinyl-free version).
