That Works for Me! (e-book Giveaway and Review)

Every Wednesday hundreds of bloggers link up a post about what works for them at the Works for Me Wednesday blog carnival hosted by Kristen Welch of the blog We Are That Family. I'm guessing it's the biggest blog carnival around. It's been going on for years. You may have noticed that at the bottom of some of my posts is a little blurb that reads "This post is part of...Works for Me Wednesday." If you've ever clicked on that link, you've visited the WFMW blog carnival.

Whenever I submit a post to the carnival I like to browse the titles of the other linked-up posts, and every week I find some treasures. But with hundreds of submissions each week, obviously I'm not able to peruse all the submissions and I'm probably missing out on some good ones. Wouldn't it be amazing and terribly useful if someone were to go through all of those posts, identify the choicest gems, and compile and organize them into a handy e-book? You guessed it. Someone has.

The e-book is called That Works for Me and it is the fruits of the labor of Kristen Welch and Jennifer DeGroot. That Works for Me includes over 800 posts organized submitted by over 300 bloggers into 24 categories, including Baby, Frugality, Garden, Crafts, Blogging, Laundry, Recipes, and Green. I am flattered that Eco-novice is featured as one of 24 Works for Me Women, representing the Green category (see full list of 24 topics and featured bloggers here). For each category, there are short summaries of the featured posts with a link to the full blog posts. The Green category iucludes blurbs about and links to 17 posts by 12 different bloggers. You'll find posts on reusing cereal bags, making your own reusable bags and bowl covers, as well as teaching kids to be green. You can also find tips with a green-bent under other categories -- just look for the green icon (a recycling symbol) next to the titles. See a sample page of the book here.

In general, I really prefer the printed page for reading. But since this is a collection of blog posts, it's perfect that it's in electronic form -- just click the link to go straight to the post. And the book is a classy job. It's a lovely, clean design with well-written text (I like the clever titles for each post), interesting quotations, reader-friendly organization, and cute icons. I have really been enjoying clicking through the different links to read more of some of the very best tips submitted to Works for Me Wednesday.
