And I LOVE Thanksgiving books -- don't have enough fabulous ones, although I did find a lovely one at Powell Books in Portland that uses a lovely text by St. Francis of Assissi. Another good winter one is Animals in Winter. http://amzn.to/1yNzagv Betsy Escandonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13598482569526345086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-264294700715447531.post-85914370251863410682014-12-09T13:53:09.180-08:002014-12-09T13:53:09.180-08:00We like Gingerbread Baby more for the baby's s...We like Gingerbread Baby more for the baby's sass and pep than the sensitivity - though I will say my boys are always sad when the gingerbread man gets eaten in the other one. My youngest loves Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree. Stranger in the Woods is another great one - more winter themed though than Christmas. We've read a lot over the years but those are the only ones that stand out. For the transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas, though, Thanks for Thanksgiving is my favorite. My kids are familiar with the real fairy tale tellings, so they are pretty used to the slightly morbid -- only in print though.Betsy Escandonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13598482569526345086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-264294700715447531.post-1548774067628367362014-12-09T12:27:45.443-08:002014-12-09T12:27:45.443-08:00Wow, I'm surprised that we only have two that ...Wow, I'm surprised that we only have two that overlap - The Gingerbread Man - though we prefer Gingerbread Baby :) - and The Night Before Christmas.
